On May 1st, Poetry Day Ireland, Fourth Class visited the home of our local poet, Francis Ledwidge, accompanied by Mr Byrne and Ms Daly. They enjoyed a guided tour of Ledwidge's cottage and were lucky enough to meet, while there, Mr Pat Casey, whose father was a first cousin of the poet. Mr. Casey had a lot of interesting information to impart. They also met Mr. Tom Flanagan who recited a Ledwidge poem for the class and the visit was rounded off by Fourth Class reciting Ledwidge's The Shadow People which they had learned in class.
