Grandparents' Day

12th Feb 2026

We had the pleasure and privilege of hosting the grandparents and special guests of 4th class last Friday in our school. The children together with Ms. Daly, led a service of thanksgiving for grandparents, followed by a display of a huge array of old artefacts ranging from a candelabra from 1901, a stereoscope which turned postcards into 3D images, old equine veterinary instruments, an LP of Joe Dolan, a Sony Walkman, old lanterns & cauldrons, paintings, photos, money, clothing, toys and memorabilia. The children had researched their items and written a short history on their piece -it was fascinating for all in attendance. The class also sang and played a few tunes for their guests, finishing up with a rousing rendition of Ireland's Call. A cup of tea and a chat rounded off the morning nicely!  See below for photos of the day.
